A Little About Me…
I’m a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and lived there for the first 23 years of my life. I graduated from the University of Akron in 1989 with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Drawing. I served as a Military Intelligence officer in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1998. Since then, I’ve worked for Michelin North America. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 1988, and we have a son and a daughter together. Currently, I live with my wife and our rescue German Shepherd in upstate South Carolina. I enjoy science fiction, fantasy and comic books, and my all-time favorite superhero is Supergirl.
I’ve been a storyteller a good portion of my life, be it written word or visual. For a long time, I wanted to work in the comic book industry, but that wasn’t to be. As a junior in high school, I took first place in the high school division of the Dobama Theater’s Marilyn Bianchi Kids Playwriting Contest. That would be the end of my writing for a long time, as I ventured full-time into the world of visual arts.
In 2014, the writing bug bit me again. I felt as though I had at least one good story to tell, and I challenged myself to write a book, start to finish. That turned out to be Talented. It was a wonderful mental exercise, and I came to realize that I wasn’t so much an artist as I was a writer who liked to draw. I found myself moved in ways by my writing that I never was by my artwork. I still sate my artist side, having discovered 3D CGI art (In fact, I created all of the CGI illustrations on this site), but writing is my true calling.
